Hilary grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in northwest Indiana where she explored the dunes, the hardwood forests and learned how to garden and cook with her mother and grandmother.  She graduated from IU with a BA in Sustainable Development of Natural Resources and Economics a long time ago.  She received her MPA from University of Alaska SE with a focus on natural resources in 2017 .

Her career has primarily been in wildland fire dispatch, management and resource coordination for the past 15 years, She now works at UAF to bring actionable science to wildland fire practitioners.  Hilary has served as the Co-op Market, Grocery & Deli Chair for six years. She is committed to community service and to addressing food security issues.

Hilary and her husband Randy have four adult children, two twin grandsons and a granddaughter joining the party in late May.
