Originally from northern Michigan, Chasity has lived all around the United States before settling in Alaska. She grew up in a small town near Lake Michigan climbing sand dunes and collecting Petoskey stones.

With more than 14 years in the Air Force, Chasity started a new journey when she got her degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in elementary education. In 2014 Chasity started teaching at Watershed Charter School and has never felt more at home with its community and philosophy. She is passionate about Watershed’s focus on place-based learning and children learning more about the world right outside their front door.

Being part of forest school is an honor for Chasity and another way for her to share her love of place-based learning and helping children explore and interact with the natural world around them. She can’t wait to help guide children to find their own strengths and build their confidence from handling insects to climbing trees.
